World-Class Inpatient Treatment
The Cabin Chiang Mai – Asia’s Leading Inpatient Treatment Centre
Located along the Ping River in Thailand’s northern city of Chiang Mai, The Cabin offers modern inpatient treatment for alcohol, drug and process addictions. The resort-like setting boasts warm sun, tropical gardens and luxurious surroundings – the perfect place to focus on rehabilitation and addiction recovery.
Our unique ‘East meets West’ treatment programme includes traditional psychology-based treatment by our Western-trained psychologists and counsellors, with the Eastern healing practices of yoga, mindfulness meditation and other physical and spiritual treatments. This unique and successful treatment programme has earned us an exemplary reputation around the world as one of the leading rehab centres, equal to or better than the best private drug rehabs in the West at a fraction of the cost.
Outpatient vs Inpatient – Which is right for me?
Treatment for addiction can be administered in either an inpatient centre where the client attends a live-in, residential programme usually for a minimum of 28 days, or an outpatient centre such as The Cabin Dhaka, where clients attend sessions on a daily or weekly basis but stay at home and usually continue to work.
To determine which is right for you, it is imperative that you are assessed by a licensed substance abuse counsellor as medical supervision may be necessary due to severe symptoms during withdrawal that some substances may cause. The Cabin Dhaka will provide this assessment for you and, if necessary, you will be referred to our inpatient residential service.
However, many people suffering from addiction are suited to the outpatient style of treatment such as that provided at The Cabin here in Dhaka (see this infographic on High Functioning Addicts)
Outpatient clinics, or ‘dayhabs’, deliver much of the psychological therapy included in residential rehabs without you actually having to reside there. These services cater to the addicted client who has not yet ‘lost everything’ and who does not require intensive medical supervision. However, at The Cabin Dhaka we work closely with local psychiatrists, who will oversee the need for any medications you may require as part of your treatment in Dhaka.
Some of our clients have a need for both inpatient and outpatient treatment. In these cases, the client will attend The Cabin Dhaka after receiving treatment at our inpatient facility, The Cabin Chiang Mai, initially.
